I sent the painters the WRONG PAINT PLAN!!! This is the biggest mistake I have made as an interior designer (at that point at least). There will be more, but the first major mess up will probably be the one you remember the most. My fiance and I went out to take field photos of the projects I had a hand in. We got to the new model home in Seven Lakes and something just seemed off... I knew that what I was looking at was not the selections I had made. In the model home of all places.... Model homes are built in neighborhoods where the company I work for (Pratt Home Builders) will display "the best of the best" so potential buyers can envision what they may want for their own spaces. It helps them determine what things they want to pay for to make their home uniquely theirs. The owners of the company trusts me to choose finishes and upgrades that will sell, show well, and spark interest in using this company to build their dream homes. No pressure. And what did I do? Painted the entire interior of the home the wrong colors...
I absolutely lost it! I am a perfectionist. I check and double check my work to make sure that I am hitting every point necessary, so how did this happen? It looked terrible - absolutely terrible. I immediately emailed my co-workers to let them know of the mistake and tell them how badly it needed to be fixed, right away! They wanted to see the field photos I had taken to see the awful mistake that had been made, but to my surprised, they all loved the wall colors.... I was stunned. I had been so blinded by the mistake that I had made that I didn't even realized how good it actually looked with all of the finishes I had chosen.
Thank you so much for reading my blog. I so love sharing projects with you all!
